Hi, I'm Derric.
I started Lift Pickleball because I love watching someone go from "I hope I don't embarrass myself out there" to "I can't wait for my next game." That shift is the whole point.
My story
[This is placeholder bio copy — replace with your own story.] I picked up a paddle a few years ago and got hooked immediately — on the game, and on watching how quickly people fall in love with it once they get a little guidance. I started coaching because I kept noticing the same thing on public courts: talented, athletic women holding back because nobody had ever broken the game down for them in a way that made sense.
[Add your background here — e.g. how long you've played, other sports/coaching experience, certifications like PPR or IPTPA, or your day-job-to-pickleball-coach story.] That's what Lift Pickleball is built around: clear, patient instruction that respects your time, your body, and your goals — whether that's playing socially with more confidence or climbing the DUPR ladder.
[Optional: add a sentence about why you focus on coaching women 40-70, e.g. a family member's experience, a community you coach at, etc.]
My coaching philosophy
Four things guide every lesson, private or group.
Patient, not pressured
There's no such thing as a silly question. We move at a pace that builds real confidence, not anxiety.
One or two things at a time
Real improvement comes from focusing on a couple of specific, fixable habits per lesson — not a firehose of tips.
Fun is the strategy
Players who are having fun practice more, relax more, and improve faster. So we keep it light.
Strategy that wins games
Beyond technique, we work on doubles positioning and shot selection — the stuff that actually wins points.
